When you go what happens ?
Body stays low. Push off back leg with explosive power. Pump arms
Baton Passing:
Visual pass
Used in long distance relay due to fatigue of incoming runner. Person receiving waits wiggle ft arm extended back, Palm up, thumb facing inside. As incoming runner approaches, receiver begins to take off slowly. Receive with left, pass with right hand.
Blind pass:
Used in short distance relays. Since it is a short distance race, each runner needs to get off as quickly as possible
Receiver
Stands with arm back, Palm down, thumb to outside (form a “v” with your hand)
Passer
Gives the signal “go” and extends arms and flicks wrist upward placing baton in receivers hand. Outgoing runner takes off as fast they can on “go” signal .
