Training is the process of equipping employees with the skills and knowledge necessary to carry out their job effectively.

A
- Incentivise applicants for a job
- Lead to internal promotions influencing the internal flow of workers
- Results in trained employees seeking alternative jobs

Why do businesses train?
A
- All workers need to have skills to ensure the production or provision of service is of best quality possible.
- Training workers would create more flexibility – workers able to adapt and change more easily, contributing more to the business
- Training motivates – as it allows workers to reach full potential and again fully contribute to the business.
- Training can assist in retaining high-quality staff who may leave otherwise
- Also may be helpful when recruiting as potential employees may be attracted to opportunities that are offered.
