Flat collar
Commonly used. Attach ID and leash. Quick release is preferred over standard buckle for
Safety.
Martingale
“Limited slip collar” used on dogs with a tenancy to back, slip or break out of collars.
Harnesses
Front-no pull 2 point- no pull Standard attachment (allows for pulling) Soft harness- small dogs Specialty or sports harness
Head collars
Attaches Under the muzzle: gentle leader, snoot loop, halti
Attached behind ears: canny collar, perfect pace, k9 bridle
Leashes/leads
Standard: typically 6ft can be 2-4 ft
Long line: 10-50 feet
Used for training recall, hiking. Do not attach to collar
Retractable: ugh. Hard to train recalls and positioning.
Hands-free: waist leashes, running, biking and service work for people that wander.
