Q

How does light affect the rate of transpiration?

A

During daylight, stomata open to allow carbon dioxide to enter which allows the water to evaporate and diffuse out the leaf

6
Q

How does temperature affect the rate of transpiration?

A

Increase in temperature provides the water molecules with more kinetic energy allowing them to evaporate more easily

Q

What is humidity?

A

Refers to the water vapour content of the air surrounding the plant

8
Q

How does humidity affect the rate of transpiration?

A

Increase in humidity decreases rate of transpiration as it increases the water potential of the air so water potential gradient for diffusion decreases
