Transpiration in Humans and plants Flashcards
(25 cards)
What are the main components for survival of Animals
Food, Water, Air and Shelter
What are the main components of circulatory system?
Heart, Blood vessels, blood
What do you mean by circulation of blood?
The circulation of blood refers to the continuous and controlled movement of blood throughout the circulatory system in the body.
What is blood?
Blood is a fluid which flows through your body.
What work does blood do?
It transport oxygen from lungs to the cells and nutrients from the small intestine to all the cells. It also helps to remove wastes from the body.
What is inside the blood? Name them.
A fluid known as Plasma in which different types of cells are suspended. One is RBCs ( Red blood cells) WBCs ( White blood cells) and platelets
What does RBCs contains?
Hemoglobin carries oxygen and other components to all the cells
What does Platelets do?
Platelets helps in clotting of the blood in the time of injury.
What are different types of blood vessels? Name them.
Veins and Arteries are the two blood vessels.
What is the work of Arteries and Veins
Arteries carries Oxygenated blood from heart to different parts of the body and Veins carries deoxygenated blood from the body to the heart
Arteries carry oxygen rich blood and veins carries carbon dioxide rich b
What is pulse?
Pulse is the throbbing movement in the blood vessels
What is the normal pulse rate of a resting human being
it is about 72 - 80
In which blood vessels valves are present? And what is the need of it?
Valves are present in veins. The need of it to prevent backflow of the veins
What is capillaries?
Capillaries are divided into extremely thin vessels. They all join to form veins.
What is the role of Heart?
To pump blood to different parts of the body.
Where is Heart located?
Heart is located in thoracic cavity (chest cavity) with its lower tip slightly tilted towards the left.
How many chambers are there in Heart. Name them.
There are four chambers in the heart. Upper two are know as Atrium and the lower two know as the ventricle. That means, Right Atrium and left atrium, right ventricle and left ventricle
Explain the diagram of the heart.
The heart is divided into four chambers, right and left atrium; right and left ventricle. From right atrium there is a blood vessels know as vena cava which brings the carbon dioxide rich blood from the body to the heart. Then the blood goes to the Pulmonary Artery which gets deoxygenated blood oxygenated in the lungs and come from Pulmonary Veins to the left atrium. And then from left ventricle to the aorta then to all parts of the body.
What is heartbeat?
Rhythmic contraction is know as heartbeat.
What is excretion?
The process of removal of wastes produced by the cells of the living organisms is called excretory system
What does execratory system contains?
Kidney, urinary bladder, ureter, Urethra.
Give the answer to the following questions
1) What is the role of Kidney?
Role of kidney is to filter blood and to remove wastes
2) Role of ureters.
Ureter is tube like structure in which urine passes.
4) Role of Urethra.
Role of urethra is to pass urine out of the body.
