- Superficial
- presents with redness and swelling
- no blistering

- Partial Thickness
- Blanching (whitening) of the skin
- Pain (most severe pain)
3rd Degree Burns
- Full thickness
- skin may be white, waxy, pale and leathery
- pain may not be present
