Q

Bronchitis or Pneumonia

A

Client in prone
Specific treatment to area includes tapotement, ensuring that light is done first, with moderate increases. Also ensure to not perform heavy or moderate tapotement over the kidneys.
Remember to warm up the area and place a garbage pail under clients head, in case anything is coughed up. Also remember to flush the area out from any work you do

1
Q

Trigger point

A

Need to have 3 signs, either taught band, pain signs, or referral pattern.
Find band, apply pressure to about a 7 on clients pain scale and hold until the pain goes down to about a 3
Flush area, and repeat process 2 more times.
Stretch muscle and apply heat to muscle for minimum 5 minutes

2
Q

Carpal tunnel

A

Start with the clients back neck shoulders because they will probably be tight. Move to the front of the shoulders neck and arm. General effleurage is good to start, working the whole arm. More specific kneeding and muscle stripping moving through the biceps and triceps.
Moving into the forearm working specifically on the area means frictions to the palmar aponeurosis or transverse ligament.
After ice, flush the area and stretch the wrist. Work into the hand and when done flush the entire arm again fully.

3
Q

Plantar fasciitis

A

Full leg to start, skin rolling, effleurage, petrisage, kneeding, moving into the foot with separate effleurage. Working into kneeding of the plantar facsia. Moving deeper to break up any restrictions. Ensure a stretch to continue to break things down, apply joint mobilizations to the metatarsals. Frictions to the Achilles tendon. Full flush of the area is then done to remove of the built up garbage.

4
Q

IBS

A

Treatment should not occur during diarrhea stage of IBS
Treatment for constipation is deemed appropriate, tho less pressure may need to be used. Relaxation is meant to be promoted during this treatment. In prone, full back mx is done, with focus on low back, gluteals, sacrum and iliac crest.
In supine, head neck and shoulders are done to promote relaxation. Abdominal work should be done with hip and knees flexed. All techniques are done clockwise.
