First Aid
Toxic Substance Ingestion
- No emetic if corrosive substance
- Emetic of peroxide, unless within 30 minutes of vet

Transport on firm surface to avoid movement of spine

- Spay with hose / cool water bath
- Do not let drink large amounts of water

- Apply cold compress
- Antihistamines - after vet exam

- Wrap in blanket
- Keep limbs elevated to preserve blood to brain

Fractured Limbs
Do not try to immobilize at home
* may cause more injury to soft tissues

- Apply pressure to wound
- If penetrating object - leave in place, guard against movement
