what happened in 1905?
on January 22nd 1905 a peaceful protest was taking place outside the winter palace. Tsarist troops shot the protesters killing roughly 200

led to a year of chaos and disorder with several strikes and revolutions taking place, it looked like the tsar had lost control, he responded in October with his October manifesto

What happened to the first Duma?
The Duma had a lot of members that threatened the tsars power so he dissolved the first Duma in 73 days
What happened to the second Duma?
Dissolved the second Duma within 3 months
What happened to the third and forth Duma?
They lasted longer than the first and second but the Russian people turned on tsardom because of them

How did Stolypin improve Russia?
-wanted to move the peasants east (Stolypins land reform)
-created a wealthy peasant (kulak) which weren’t wealthy at all
-cancelled redemption payments which is good for peasants
-introduced land banks for the peasants to invest in
-into oppression, he finds rioters and hangs them

He is assassinated in 1911

What happened during the 1917 February revolution?
In February 1917 a revolution broke out and the tsar lost control of everything and abdicated the throne to his brother but he refused and the Romanov dynasty ended
