JAN: 400,000+ workers striking
FEB: strikes spread, tsars uncle assassinated
MAR-MAY: Japan defeated Russia at war
MAY-JUNE: Middle class liberals demand elected parliament
JUNE-JULY: peasant riots spread to countryside
SEP: Russia and Japan sign treaty
OCT: General strikes spread from Moscow
26th OCT: St Petersburg soviet of workers formed
30th OCT: October manifesto issued
DEC: troops closed down ST.P soviets

A

FEB: strikes spread across Russia
7th MAR: workers at putilov steel mines striked
10th MAR: c.250,000 workers demonstrating
12th MAR: Duma took control and set up the provisional government
15th MAR: tsar blocked out of Petrograd then he abdicated
