What HCP can do to reduce TB in Indigenous populations?

A
  • Wider community: improve SES conditions and transform health systems to Indigenous self-determination
  • Hospitals: cultural safety training, consult Indigenous populations, incorporate healing practices, increase number of Indigenous people in organization, encourage HCP to develop sustainable models of care
  • Individual HCP: know TB context & epidemiology, learn about history
  • Working with families: co-develop TB care plans, share culturally appropriate info on TB, create safe spaces
