1

What is cellular plasticity?

dramatic shift in cellular phenotype

2

Why is cellular plasticity important in cancer biology?

Because it contributes to the progression of the tumor, to metastatic potential and to resistance to therapeutic interventions

3

What is tumor cell dedifferentiation?

When a tumor cell loses it's specialized properties and takes on a less differentiated phenotype

4

How does dedifferentiation lead to escape of immune surveillance?

1. loss of differentiation associated antigens
2. transcriptional changes that result in the recruitment of immunosuppressive myeloid cells
