Malignant neoplasm of any epithelial origin
Carcinoma
Malignancy that begins in the skin or tissue that line / cover internal organs
Sarcoma
Malignancy that begins in bone, cartilage , fat , muscle , blood vessels or other connective/ supportive tissue
Teratoma
Malignancy composed of tissues not normally present at the site, contains elements of all 3 embryological germ cell layers (typical in the gonads)
Lymphoma
Malignancy of the lymphatic tissues , typically present with tumour masses
Leukaemia
Malignancy starting in the blood - forming tissue (ex. bone marrow) , causing a large number of abnormal blood cells to be produced & enter the blood, typically only having circulating cells
Hamartoma
Disorganised mass of mature specialised cells/ tissue indigenous to site , thought to be a developmental abnormality
Hamartoma
Disorganised mass of mature specialised cells/ tissue indigenous to site , thought to be a developmental abnormality
Choristoma
Ectopic rest of normal tissue
