Tutor2u Flashcards
Where are Sensory Neurons found?
Found in Receptors such as:
Eyes, ears, tongue and skin
What do Sensory Neurons do?
Carry nerve impulses to the spinal cord and brain
What happens when a nerve impulse reaches the brain? (Sensory Neuron)
Changed into Sensations such as vision, touch, taste
Where are Relay Neurons found?
Found between sensory input and motor response.
found in the brain and spinal cord (The Relay Neuron)
What does the Relay Neuron do?
Allow sensory an motor neurons to communicate
Where are motor Neurons found?
Found in the CNS
What do Motor Neurons do?
Control Muscle Movements
What happens when motor neurons are stimulated?
Release Neurotransmitters that bind to receptors on muscle to trigger a response leading to movement
