most desirable attachment type - show stranger and separation anxiety but are happy to explore and are happy to see caregiver return
insecure avoidant attachment
low anxiety and weak attachment - not much emotion shown at splitting or reunion of parents
Insecure resistant attachment
strong attachment with high anxiety
resists comforting at reunion despite anxiety

secure attachment - 60-75% British babies
insecure avoidant - 20-25% British babies
resistant avoidant - 3% British babies
types of attachment evaluation
+ good predictive validity - predicts number of aspects in babies later life
- does help predict later life but maybe is not to do with attachment
