- compliance
- identification

what is compliance ?
A
- the person conforms publiically but privatley disagrees
- they change their public behaviour (way they act), but not their private beliefs
- shallowest form of conformity - usually short term change
- links to normative social influence

what is identification ?
A
- conform to the opinions of the group becuase they posses a trait we value
- identify with the group, so we want to be a part of it
- change their public and private behaviour but only while the group is present
- short term change and links to normative influence

What is internalisation ?
A
- confoming publically and privately becuase they have influenced and accepted the views of the group
- deepest form of conformity, most perminent - lasts even though the majority group is not present
- links to informational social influence
