What is the nuclear family?
A couple and their dependent children, regarded as a basic social unit
What is the vertically extended family?
A family where multiple generations live together
What is the horizontally extended family?
A high number of embers from the same generation
What is the beanpole family?
A multi generational family that is long and thin with few aunts and uncles
What is a one person household?
A person who makes provision for their food or other essentials on their own
What is a LAT?
Couples who have an intimate relationships but live separately
What is a one parent household?
Someone’s who is unmarried, divorced and widowed who live with their children
What is a same sex couple?
A family with same sex parents
What is a reconstituted family?
When 2 families join together with one or both partners are divorced from previous with children
What is a cohabiting couple?
A couple that lives together in an intimate relationship who are not married and not in a civil partnership
