Explain Direct Democracy
- Desicions and laws made by majority of the population and politicians
- Also known as “pure democracy” since it is the most direct
Advantages of direct democracy
- Transparent
- Accountability (people choose decisions)
- Cooperation
Disadvantages of Direct Democracy
- Very very slow (it takes a long time for referendum)
- Tension among people because they fight
- What if people do not vote or cannot vote?

- No country: Switzerland is close
- Towns/regions of Switzership that are direct

(Small populations because it takes soo long)
Representative Democracy Explanation
- Consensus government
- Politicians with secret ballot box
- Politicians make all the decisions
- Can have opposition
- Can solve small problems
Advantages of Representative Democracy
- Cooperation, no arguing
- Inclusive
- Stable
- People do not have to do a referendum all the time, since politicians make the decisions
Disadvantages of Representative Democracy
- Could have corruption
- Not all voices heard since politicians may ignore

- Symbolic/Figurehead

- Work with the government
- Stable/Secure
- Maintains culture

- Expensive having two governments (Monarch and regular government)

- Only one person that leads the government and set rules
Advantages of Dictatorship
- They have strong leadership since it has one dictator and he/she makes the decisions quickly
Disadvantages of Dictatorship
- Weak Rule of Law
- No protection for people that oppose or show dissent
- One leader makes all the decisions and rules so no diverse perspectives
- Dictators are normally known to oppress people

Communism Explanation
- Classless
- Government owns property/wealth
- Everything divided equally
Advantages of Communism
- People are equal
- No competition
- No jealousy
- No homeless
- Less crime
- Everyone has a job

- Censorship
