Ask the patient to close his eyes. Push the eyeball gently to the lateral side. Puncture slowly perpendicularly 0.3 – 0.7 inch along the orbital wall. No twist. No vigorous lift and thrust. Press the puncture site for a few seconds after the withdrawal of the needle to avoid bleeding.
