Abort Start Criteria
1. Ng fails to reach 14 percent within 6 seconds. 2. No MGT indication within 30 seconds after the starter engages. 3. Oil pressure is not evident within 30 seconds after starter is engaged. Do not motor engine if aborting due to lack of oil pressure. 4. MGT reaches 867 °C before starter disengages. 5. Starter fails to disengage above 55 ±3 percent Ng. 6. No Np within 30 seconds after Ng reaches idle (67 ±3 percent). 7. ROTOR BRAKE light fails to extinguish within 30 seconds after brake release.
41
Rotor Brake Limits
1. Do not apply rotor brake above 60 percent Nr except for emergency situations. 2. Do not apply rotor brake below 25 percent Nr except in emergency situations. 3. Except in emergency situations, the rotor brake shall be released at approximately 10 percent Nr to avoid sudden stoppage. 4. During rotor brake start, release brake within 25 seconds after engine idleRPM(67 ±3 percentNg) is attained. 5. During rotor brake start, ROTOR BRAKE light should extinguish within 30 seconds after brake release. 6. Do not exceed engine idle RPM (67 ±3 percent Ng) with rotor brake engaged.
42
Landing Gear Limits
Landing is permitted at maximum gross weight for all headings on slope surfaces up to and including six degrees.
43
Prohibited Maneuvers
1. Aerobatic maneuvers as defined by OPNAVINST 3710.7 series. 2. Practice autorotations to touchdown are prohibited. 3. Practice autorotation entries within the shaded areas of the height velocity diagrams (Figure 4-2 and Figure 4-4) are prohibited. 4. Dual--engine throttle chops above 120 KIAS are prohibited. 5. Single--engine throttle chops above 60--percent MRGB torque are prohibited. 6. Do not exceed 50 percent MRGB torque at airspeeds above Vh while in a dive. 7. Abrupt, simultaneous collective and cyclic inputs while maneuvering are prohibited. 8. Continuous night--aided operation (with TopOwl HMSD) within NOE environment is prohibited.
