What was the task?
T1:
- To deliver campaign, I was required to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders: internal team, JET Programme alumni network, uni career office reps
UK JET Desk - Promotions
What actions did you take to complete the task?
(Working with JET alumni)
A1:
- Recruited presenters: social media, job plaforms, screen through apps, responded to queries from candidates
- Reassured applicants of comprehensive support from office
- Encouraged applicants to personalise presentations
(Working with internal team to improve promotions schedule tracker)
A2:
- Challenge with managing presentation schedule: last minute cancellations, presenters struggling to find venue
- Promotions schedule tracker was reviewed by line manager - too complicated and should be revised. No incorporation of potential contingencies
- Took more proactive approach: discussion with team on amendments to deal with contingencies
- Amendments made: confirmation emails, request for reaffirming attendance, reminder emails with clear venue directions and parking details
- Improvement to processes reduced disruptions, increased campaign’s efficiency and impact
(Supporting team with contingency planning)
A2:
- Personally supported with contingency planning - offering to deliver JET presentations if original presenter could not attend
- Gave team greater flexibility in prioritising other important work matters
- Reduced need to rearrange presentations or last-minute cancellations
