Define morality? and ethics?
Morality tells us is a action is right, wrong, good or bad
Eithics explores the rationale behind the decision.
explain non-consequentialism and consequentialism?
non-consequentialists decide whether an action is right or wrong by examining obligations. They clam the right thing should be done what ever the consequences might be.
Consequentialism - examine the outcome of an action to decide whether it is good or bad.
Explain deontology
Deontology is a non-consequentialist
Denotologist believe that there are rules that must be followed, no matter what the consequences of the actions might be. it is therefore the actions that are right or wrong not the consequences. Example shooting a intruder to protect your family. the action being protecting your family but the consequence being that someone has lost there life.
Explain utilitarianism
is a consequentialist theory
utiliarianisns believe that a decision should always be taken to ensure that the consequences are the best possible for all involved. the greatest good for the greats number of people.
Explain Virtue ethics
Virtue ethics is a person rather than action based. it looks at the virtue or moral character of the person carrying out the action rather than at ethical duties and rules or the consequences of particular actions.
