Asertivos : Facts, anything about reality.
Directivos : Looks to influence the behaviour of the one they’re talking to.
Compromisivos : A promise from the speaker
Declarativos : Modify reality (“I declare him guilty !”)

How to identify the 6 functions of language ?

A
  • REPRESENTATIVA : Expression of ideas, third person and declarative usually scientific or expositional.
  • EMOTIVA : Subjective, focused on the deliverer (emisor) expression of emotions or feelings.
  • CONATIVA : Focus on the reciever, looking for a reaction or want.
  • POÉTICA : Focus on the message it contains.
  • FÁTICA : Focus on the channel of communication to check its function or interrupt it (“Is anyone here ?” “Can you hear me ?”
  • METALINGÜÍSTICA : Talking about the code/language being used.
