Puberty
The period of physical and hormonal changes that occurs as a child transitions into adulthood, typically between the ages of 8 and 18, and leads to sexual maturity and the ability to reproduce
Primary sexual charactertics
The biological traits related to reproduction that are present at birth and develop during puberty.
Secondary characteristics
physical traits that distinguish the sexes but are not directly involved in reproduction, typically appearing during puberty.
Types of play
Solo - Playing alone not engaging with anyone, mostly infants and toddlers mostly ages 0-2
Parallel - Children play side-side but do not interact with each other , ages 2-3
Cooperative - Children gains more social skills , playing with each other likes role plays or teamwork , 4-5 years
Genetic lifestyles
Inherited traits and predisposition that can influence development
Environmental factors
External influences such as family , culture , society and education that affect development
Self-concept
An individuals overall view of themselves , including their beliefs about their abilities , qualities and their worth
Self-esteem
How and individual feels about themselves: their sense of self-worth and value
Maturation
The biologically programmed changes that lead to development
