A large, powerful computer that can do a lot of complicated jobs quickly and can be used by a lot of people at the same time.
Microprocessor
The device that controls what a computer does; it takes data as input, does something with it and provides output.
Who uses mainframe computers?
Used by large organisations for complex processing tasks such as statistical analysis and bulk data processing.
What are microprocessors used for?
Used to control washing machines, televisions and other household appliances.
PC stands for?
Personal computer

What is the similarity between PC’s , laptops and desktops?
They come in many different shapes and sizes.
Difference between laptops and desktops
Desktops have more space for components than laptops and often provides users with the option to upgrade them or add additional components.
Downside of desktops
Needs peripheral devices, needs more power than a laptop, isn’t portable.

Monitor, printer, mouse and keyboard

A phone that has specialist features that provide users with functions that meet particular user needs
