Unit 1 Exam Flashcards
(21 cards)
Accuracy
Data should not contain errors. Accuracy is a measure of how closely information represents the objects or events being recorded.
Bias
High-quality data will limit bias. Key stakeholders should not be used to collect as they will have bias.
Integrity
All-encompassing trust factor for the data. A method of describing the overall accuracy, authenticity, correctness, reasonableness, relevance, and timeliness of data. Data with high integrity is more reliable and trustworthy, while data without integrity should not be used in calculations or be trusted to make decisions.
Relevance
Make sure the data is related to the topic. When building a payment system, collect the data from the customer or sales person; the managers and IT people are that one step removed and the data may be less relevant.
Reliability
From a reliable source.
Accessibility
Can everyone access this data/information? Data stored on my laptop hard drive has low accessibility, whereas if it were stored in Google Drive or something similar it’d be much more accessible.
Clarity
Is the data/information clear? Is the message clearly communicated?
Context
Where’s the data coming from, what assumptions does the provider of data/information make? When a school celebrates their VCE results, the assumption is that the audience knows what VCE is and what the result means.
APP2
Non-identification of individuals
APP6
Information only being held for its primary purpose
APP11
Security measures are used to protect personal information (data must be kept secure).
Functional requirement
What the solution is required to do.
Non-functional requirement
How well the solution is required to work.
Constraints
Something that may limit the final solution.
Technical constraints
Hardware (screen size, refresh rate, memory/RAM, storage space, processing power, etc) and software (Excel file limits, etc).
Economical constraints
Time, cost, effort.
Social, legal, and usability constraints
User’s technical ability, obeying the APPs.
Scope
What will and won’t be included in the solution
IPO
Input, process, output.
Format
How things look (colour, fonts, images, icons).
Convention
A standard way of doing things, like saying hi when talking to someone.
