(32 cards)
What is a point?
A point is a location. It has no size.
What is a line?
A series of points that extend in two directions without an end.
What is a plane?
A plane is a flat surface that extends without an end in the directions of lines.
What are collinear points?
Collinear points are points that lie on the same line.
What is a postulate/axiom?
A postulate/axiom is an accepted statement of fact.
What is a ray?
A ray is the part of a line consisting of one endpoint and all the points of the line on one side of the endpoint.
What is a segment?
A segment is the part of the line consisting of two points, called endpoints, and all the points between them.
What are parallel lines?
Parallel lines are planes that do not intersect.
What is an acute angle?
An acute angle is an angle whose measure is between 0 and 90.
What is a right angle?
A right angle is an angle whose measure is 90.
What is an obtuse angle?
An obtuse angle is an angle whose measure is between 90 and 180.
What is a straight angle?
A straight angle is an angle whose measure is 180.
What are congruent angles?
Congruent angles are angles that have the same measure.
What is an angle bisector?
An angle bisector is a ray that divides an angle into two congruent angles.
What are adjacent angles?
Adjacents angles are two coplanor angles that have a common side and a common vertex but no common interior points.
What are complementary angles?
Complementary angles are two angles have a sum that measures 90.
What are vertical angles?
Vertical angles are two angles whose sides form two pairs of oppposite rays.
What are adjacent angles?
Two coplanar angles that have a common side and a common vertex but no common interior points.
What are complementary angles?
Two angles with an angle measure sum of 90o.
What are supplementary angles?
Two angles with an angle measure sum of 180o.
What is a transversal?
A line that intersects two coplanar lines in two points.
What are alternate interior angles?
Nonadjacent interior angles that lie on opposite sides of the transversal.
What are same side interior angles?
Interior angles that lie on the same side of the transversal between two coplanar lines.
What are corresponding angles?
Angles that lie on the same side of the transversal and in corresponding positions relative to the two coplanar lines.
