What are Tied Notes? (Remember: Tied Notes are different from Slurred Notes)

A

Two pitches connected by a curved line – these connected pitches are the same pitch.
Played on the piano by combining the rhythm of the two pitches. – quarter note tied to a quarter note is played for the same length as a half note.

What are Pick Up Note(s)/Anacrusis?

A

Note/notes that occur before the first full measure. The last measure of the piece is shortened by that number of beats in the pick-up measure.
Example: 1 quarter note pick-up, the last measure will have one less quarter note.
