Satan-

•satan is eventually destroyed in revelation.
Adam and eves misuse of free will:
•god created humans to him but love cannot be forced so free will was necessary.
•people misuse this freewill
•C.S. Lewis referred to a world where humans didn’t have free will as being in a world of nothing more than robots.

Q

Both sides of the argument (natural suffering)

A

• human beings cannot be held responsible for natural suffering
• because the world is in perfect timing as natural order a pattern. Therefore, there is no designer and no God.
• PS have responded to this arguing about what humans, coal, natural disasters, disasters or natural evil are, in fact, not evil themselves. Many of these occurrences bring benefits to human beings. These events are in either good or evil there simply part of the natural world. They’re only considered Eva because of the potential suffering that I may cause human beings, but in many cases, humans play some cells in danger, for example, living in earthquake, zones, or in floodplains.

Q

Augustine’s theodicy

A

Augustine’s theodicy-evil exist because God give humans free, will humans, abuses, freewheel when they commit evil acts. How humans use free will determine is whether or not they will get to Heaven, or Hell timer for Augustines theodicy has been referred to as a soul deciding theodicy, God let’s humans, be rescued from sin, but they must accept the rescuer, this involves a conscious decision.

Q

Cons of the Irenaeus theodicy

A

this can account for natural suffering, but it doesn’t explain the full extent of human suffering. However, and English philosopher supported the theodicy but added that God purposely created himself at an epistemic distance from creation. This means god cannot become involved in human affairs, otherwise, he would limit human freedom.

17
Q

what are the two humanist responses to the problem of evil and suffering

A

1) all in the mind
•humans have the capacity to do evil
•we are all products of our society, parenting, upbringing and experiences.
• in some people, these life experiences can lead to some kind of psychological malfunction, and they are more likely to commit acts of evil.
• however, this idea that Eva is a psychological phenomenon Does not conflict with the believe in Satan in the consequences of free will. This is because the good work on these vulnerable individuals causing acts of evil to happen.
2)evil is part of the evolutionary process
• if evolution history, we are survival machines, caught up in the process of survival of the fittest.
• it is perfectly reasonable to accept that suffering is just a part of life
• philosophically, however, it is not logically to describe anything as good or bad if there is no ultimate source or standard for either
• this means without a god there can be no evil or good
