Unit 3.1 Flashcards
(6 cards)
1
Q
what is current and what is it measured in?
A
Current is the rate of flow of electrons and it is measured in Amps (A).
2
Q
What is voltage and what is it measured in?
A
Volatge is the energy given to electrons and it is measured in Volts (V).
3
Q
What are the charactaristics of a series circuit?
A
- It is just one loop.
- When one bulb goes out they all go out.
- Current is the same everywhere in the circuit.
4
Q
What are the charactaristics of a parallel circuit?
A
- The current splits out at branches.
- When one bulb goes out the rest stay on.
5
Q
What is resistance?
A
The opposite of current.
6
Q
What is power?
A
How fast energy is transferred
