Technician Duties

A
  • Answer telephone and triage questions in need of expertise to the Pharmacist.
  • Process written prescriptions and telephoned refill requests.
  • Complete patient profile with Protected Health Information(PHI)
    -Ensure patient confidentiality
  • Scan and store written prescriptions forms in appropriate files
  • Notify pharmacists of Drug Utilization review(DUR) warnings/concerns
  • Prepare prescriptions( counting, pouring, labeling, pricing, calculating, reconstituting, and compounding)
  • Keep supplies stocked
  • Organize inventory alphabetically
  • Order and stock
  • Prepare insurance claims
    -speak with insurance companies
    Help patients locate OTC meds
  • Behind the Counter sales of pseudoephedrine and some schedule V drugs must be documented
  • ## Keep area clean
