1938, Georges de Latour hired Andre Tchelistcheff, a Russian winemaker trained in France, to oversee production at Beaulieu. Dubbed “Dean of American Winemakers”, he mentored Robert Mondaivi, Louis Martini, Joe Heitz and Mike Grgich.
