What are the stages of formation of a batholith?
Magma intrudes into the ground ,
Magma cools and solidifies,
Large crystal is formed in the rock,
Erosion exposes them over time
How do U-shaped valleys form?
As glaciers move down the valley, it eroded the V-shape flatter, into a U-shape
What is Malham cove made from?
Limestone
When was Malham cove formed?
300 million years ago
What is a scarp?
Higher or resistant rocks (like chalk)
What is a dip slope?
Behind the scarp, gentle slope follow the angle of the scarp
What is a vale?
Softer clays form lower and flatter grounds

What is the geology of them?
East Anglia - sands and clays
