more prone to side effects (anticholinergics)

Brompheniramine, chlorpheniarmine and diphenhydramine are safe
Oral decongestants are teratogenic in 1st trimester (use topical only if very bad and not for long)
dextromethorphan for cough
Avoid all NPH except honey

A

bropheniramine, chlorpheniramine, diphenhydramine are safe but watch for sedation in child
-Decongestants can decrease milk production
-Dextromethorphan is safe

Fever red flags

A

<3m, stiff neck, chemotherapy, very ill and concerning parents (Straight to emerg)
<6m, high fever, confused, serious co morbidity, recent medical procedure, recent travel, new medication, uncooked meat/fish (these all go to urgent care or their doctor), >72h
