No cough - 1 pt
Fever >38 degrees Celsius - 1 pt
Peritonsillar exudates/swelling - 1pt
Some clinicians also use age
3-14 = +1 pt
15-44 = 0 pt
>45 = -1 pt
If 0-1 pt –> no swab, no treatment
If 2-3 pt –> swab & treat if swab +ve
If 4 pts –> swab & treat
