30 yrs. or older, been a US citizen for at least 9 yrs., and live in the state u represent.

How does the impeachment process work
The House brings the impeachment charges on the president and the Senate acts as the jury
How does Congress create a bill
- Member of Congress introduces bill
- Bill goes to committee
- Bill is debated by either Senate or House
- If bill is passed it goes to the other chamber
- After bill is voted on in both houses, its approved
- Bill is sent to Prez who can either approve- becomes law, or veto- not approve. 2/3 vote of Congress can override the Prez

Senate- Vice Prez
House- Speaker of the House
What is the main duty of each branch
Leg.- makes laws
Ex.- Enforce laws
Jud.- Interpret laws
What are powers granted to Congress
Taxation power, commerce, charge of post office system, declare war, coin money
What is Quorum? What is needed for quorum
A quorum is the minimum number of people needed to conduct business. One more than half of the members in the House or Senate must be present for the quorum

Qualifications- 35 years old. Natural born citizen. 14 year resident of the US.
Term- 4 years
What is the Electoral College
A group of people selected from each of the states to cast votes in presidential elections. Determines who next Prez will be.
What powers does the Prez have
Commander of all armed forces. He has the power to grant reprieves and pardons

How does someone become a Supreme Court justice
Prez appoints judges to the Supreme Court, senate approves appointments

Principle that prevents one branch of gov. from becoming to powerful than the other branches

Bill of Rights were added to the Constitutuoon after it was written they are the first 10 amendments to the constitution
