One of the largest areas of growth was in the steel industry in 1910 it had produced 26.1 million tonnes of steel and by 1920 it had reached 42.1 million

The first work war me at women where needed to replace men in jobs
It was expected that women would not continue to work after they got married

Some states gave woman teh right to vote such as New York, which passed this law in 1917
Despite this many woman did not have the right to vote, right to equal pay of same employment opportunities as men.

As a result the government began to pass more laws which reflected the interest of woman
Such as the Shepard tonwer act which provided health care services with the money needed to support pregnant woman

The recovery of Europe meant farms overseas could produce their own goods reducing demand
