Q

What is the ruling on gold/silver (actually) plating of utensils?
+ What is the wisdom behind the ruling?

Plating: adding a thin layer on the outside of the utensil. The utensil is not made entirely of gold/silver just the outer layer.

A
  • If gold can be extracted via. e.g scraping or other easy means then it is not allowed.
  • If it is not easily extractable then it is allowed.

Wisdom: This is to protect the economy, if the gold was easily taken from utensils then it will affect the economy negatively as gold and silver are used as value/means of transaction.
