Live attenuated varicella zoster virus vaccine
32
Name all the obligatory childhood vaccines in Hungary
BCG - Live attenuated M.bovis DaPT - Diptheria and tetanus toxoid, acellular pertussis(toxoid) IPV - Inactivated polio virus Hib - H.influenzae b - capsule MMR - measles, mumps and rubella - attenuated Hepatitis B - Subunit S.pneumoniae - capsule polysaccharide-protein conjugated Varicella - attenuated
33
What is Live attenuated bacteria?
Live strains without virulence
34
What is a toxoid vaccine?
Formalin inactivated toxin
35
What are the optional vaccines in Hungary?
Influenza - attenuated or inactivated HPV - Recombinant virus-like particles Meningococcus - capsule polysaccharide
36
vaccines for people travelling to endemic areas
``` Yellow fever - attenuated Salmonella typhi - killed or live Diphteria Polyomyelitis - polivalent poliovaccine Hepatitis A - inactivated Hepatitis B - Recombinant HBsAg Meningococcus meningitis - caspule polysaccharide (A, C, W135, Y) Rabies - inactivated lyssavirus ```
37
Vaccination for people at risk of infection
``` Salmonella typhi Diphteria Pertussis Tetanus - animal bite, deep wound Rabies - animal bite MMR Hepatitis B - newborn of HBV positive mother ```
38
What does active immunisation mean?
Immune response is stimulated by exposure to microbes or their antigens in vaccines
39
What does passive immunisation mean?
Injection of purified antibodies or antibody-containing serum (antiserum) Does NOT involve the immune system, so only protection for a short time.
