what is ecological validity?

A

how test performance predicts behaviours in real-world settings. Although test designs and findings in studies characterized by low ecological validity cannot be generalized to real-life situations, those characterized by high ecological validity can be.

what is internal validity?

A

how well a study is conducted (its structure) - the measures in a study genuinely test what they were designed to tests and that other variables do not affect the DV

how applicable the findings are to the real world. - the results are generalisable to the target population at other places and times
