Q

Route and connections of v. cephalica

A
  • Runs proximally over the medial palmar surface of the carpus and onto the cranial surface of the distal antebrachium, where it is joined by v. cephalica accessoria.
  • Proximal to the elbow it is joined by v. mediana cubiti.
  • Continues between the lateral border of m. cleidobrachialis and lateral head of the triceps, there it gives rise to v. axillobrachialis.
  • Passes under the proximal m. cleidobrachialis and joins v. jugularis externa, deep to the m. cleidocephalicus pars cervicalis
