What is the indicatif mood in English, and what is it for?
Indicative. It indicates certainty about an action. It indicates fact/is used when discussing facts or certainties. It is the most common verb mood. it indicates a fact or something that is happening, has happened, or will happen.
How many tenses are there in the indicatif mood? What are they?
- One present form - present.
Five past forms - Imparfait, passe compose, passe simple, plus-que-parfait, passe anterior.
Two future forms - futur, futur anterior.
What is the conditionnel mood in English, what is it used for?
Conditional. You use the conditional mood to make polite requests or suggestions as well as to make hypothetical sentences. This mood is translated aswouldin the present conditional tense andwould havein the past conditional tense.
What is the subjunctif mood in English, and what is it for?
Subjunctive. The subjunctive mood is used more commonly in French than in English. It is used to express opinions and feelings (subjective thoughts).
It is the mood of doubt, subjectivity, uncertainty, emotion, and will.
