CLASSES OF Vet meds
POM-V= Pom RX by vet, supplied by vet/pharmacy with written RX
POM-VPS:RX by VPS - supplied by vet/pharmacy, written only if prescriber and supplier not the same
NFA- VPA = non food animal
AVM-GSL = Authorised vetinary medicine GSL
Vet prescription requirements - CD
- Address of prescriber must be in the Uk
- Form of the prescription
- Strength of the prescription where appropriate
- Total quantity or number of dosage units in words and figures
- DATE- same as FP10, RX is valid for 6 months from date written but 28 days if schedule 2,3,4 CD
- Decelation that is is prescribed for animal under their care
- name, address of the person
Normal vet RX
- Name, address,telephone number
- Qualification and signature of vet - reg no if schedule 2,3
- Name, address and signature
- Name and address of owner
- Identification and species of animal + address
- DATE
- Name, quantity dose,administration
- necessary warminings
- states prescribed under vet cascade
Veterinary cascade
1) licensed VM with GB/UK wide marketing authority
2)Licensing with NI
3)Licensed VM with GB/UK/NI marketing authorisation for another species
