What is a victim?

A

Section 4

Victim means- a person against whom an offence is committed by another person

A person through or by means of, an offence committed by another person, suffers physical injury or loss of damage to property.

A parent or legal guardian of a child that is victimised unless the parent or guardian is the offender.

The progress of the investigation of the offence

The charges laid or the reason for not laying charges, and all changes to the charges laid

The victims role as a witness in the prosecution
