Why did the Tet Offensive mark a major turning point in the Vietnam War?
- Weakened the American Morale.
- Caused many Americans at home to change their support.
- Caused many Anti - War protests.
- Made America re asses their tactics, and not try win the whole war, but instead settle for a negotiated settlement.
What was the Tet Offensive?
- 1968 vietcong surprise attacked major Vietnamese cities in South Vietnam, during national holiday.
- They Attacked over 100 cities + US bases.
- Killed many US soldiers.

Why did Operation Rolling Thunder fail?
- Caused Civilian Injuries.
- Bombs missed their targets.
- Caused planes and pilots to be shot down.

What was the Strategic Hamlet Program?
- Launched in 1961.
- Was intended to protect villages and villagers.
- Surrounding them with barbed wire and fortifications.
- Were to be armed and trained to defend their communities.
- Meant to prevent them from helping the Viet Cong.
- They were unpopular amongst villagers and program was abandoned in 1963.
