A
Infant accosiated gastroenteritis - faecal oral transmission

is there a vaccination for rotavirus?
A
yes there is a vaccination but the symptoms are usually self limiting when you take electrolytes and fluid replacement

how does rotavirus enter and infect
A
it infects mature enterocytes
virus enters via an endosome
the endosome then releases the viral particle into the cytoplasm
the lipid droplets help form viroplasm where new viral particles are produced
exists via cell lysis

A
watery stools - diarrhoea
abdominal cramps
