Viruses Flashcards
(61 cards)
SMEDI
Porcine parvovirus 1
Protoparvovirus
Parvoviridae family
small, non enveloped, negative sense DNA
capsid, 3 viral proteins: VP-1,2 (main neutralising antibodies),3
Uses cellular polymerase enzyme, so it will replicate in dividing cells
SMEDI biotypes
5 biotypes: 1. NADL-2: apathogenic, 2. Classical PPV-1: SMEDI, 3. Kresse strain: dermatitis, death of immunocompetent fetus, 4. Strain with skin symptoms, 5.Coinfections with PCV-2: PMWS, PRDC
Dog parvo
Canine Parvo Virus -2 (Pathogenic Serotype) Protoparvovirus
Parvoviridae family
CPV-1: original non pathogenic viruses of dogs
high resistance: month long survival → bleach disinfection!
In cats: in 10% feline panleukopenia is caused by CPV! (only A subtypes)
CPV2a, CPV2b, CPV2c
Feline panleukopenia / Feline distemper/ Feline parvo
Parvoviridae family
Carnivore Protoparvovirus (1)
FPLV- Feline Panleukopenia Virus
CPV-2a,b,c can also infect felidae
MEV
Mink enteritis disease virus (protoparvo, parvoviridae)
Patho, CS: like dog/ cat parvo
Vaccination: inactivated from 2 months of age, together with pseudomonas and botulism
ADV
Aleutian mink disease virus : parvovirus (amdoparvovirus)
ADV: aleutian mink disease virus (kills young animals as a result of massive humoral response to both the capsid and non-capsid viral proteins) Amdoparvovirus Parvoviridae
Aleutian genotype is more susceptible-defect in antigen presentation
young: intertitial pneumonia
older: hypergammaglobulinemia, glomerulonephritis
PLASMACYTOSIS
No virus neutralizing antibodies → Immuncomplexes → Type III hypersensitivity
Derzsy disease
Goose parvovirus , goose and muscovy duck are susceptible
Duck parvovirus- SBDS
Short beak and dwarfism syndrome
pathomechanism, dx, px like Derzsy
CS, patho different
only barbari and muscovy duck Geese isnt susceptible
PMWS
PCV-2, circovirus
post weaning multisystemic wasting syndrome
PDNS
porcine dermatitis nephropathy syndrome
PCV-2 but it may develop without PCV !!
high pcv ab titers –> type III hypersensitivity –> immunocomplex depositions in kidney, skin, blood vessels
PBFDV
PiCV
GoCV
PBFDV: psittaci beak and feather disease virus, young under 3 years
PiCV: pigeon Circovirus, 1-12 months
GoCV: goose circovirus, from 1week, coinfection with riemerella anatipestifer.
Immunosuppression, secondary bacterial infections
all circovirus genus, circoviridae family
CAV
chicken infectious anaemia
anelloviridae family, gyrovirus genus
it was a circovirus, but the replication cycle is a little bit different. First cell infected is the T progenitor cells and the myeloid progenitor cells.
Destroys red a white blood cells
anaemia and immunosuppression
Papillomatoses
papillomaviridae: linear dsDNA, non-enveloped, survives in the environment for months
Autovaccines are available
BoPV 1-6: bovine papillomatoses, delta (1,2), epsilon (5), xipapillomavirus (3,4,6)
1,2: infects horse, 1,2,3: skin lesions, 4: intestine 5,6: skin of udder. species specific immunity
EPV-2
Horse sarcoid: BoPV-1,2
dog, cat papillomatoses
human: >50 types
Horse sarcoid
BoPV 1,2
hemorrhagic nephritis and enteritis of geese
GHPV: goose hemorrhagic polyomavirus, polyomavirus genus, polyomaviridae
goose 4-10 w, muscovy duck (sero+, , symptomless, high titre)
pneumoenteritis of calves
1-4 months
Bovine mastadenovirus A-C, Bovine atadenovirus D-F
Hemorrhagic enteritis (C= BAdV-10)
pneumoenteritis of sheep
Ovine mastadenovirus A-c, Ovine atadenovirus D, bovine adenovirus
Rubarth disease/ infectious hepatitis
blue eye disease
dogs with vomiting, diarrhoea, bleeding, icterus
CAdV-1 Mastadenovirus, Adenoviridae
1-3 m
peracute/ acute/ extended
Type III hs, DIC–> IC depots
Cowdry A inclusion bodies
Infectious laryngotracheitis of dogs
CAdV-2
Inclusion body hepatitis
FAdV-1,7,8 Aviadenovirus
Hepatitis hydropericardium syndrome in goose
FAdV-4 Aviadenovirus
Turkey hemorrhagic encephalitis
TAdV-3 Siadenovirus
Marble spleen disease pheasant
TAdV-3 Siadenovirus
Splenomegaly in chicken
TAdV-3 Siadenovirus
