Q

SMEDI

A

Porcine parvovirus 1
Protoparvovirus
Parvoviridae family
small, non enveloped, negative sense DNA
capsid, 3 viral proteins: VP-1,2 (main neutralising antibodies),3
Uses cellular polymerase enzyme, so it will replicate in dividing cells

ADV

A

Aleutian mink disease virus : parvovirus (amdoparvovirus)

Aleutian genotype is more susceptible-defect in antigen presentation
young: intertitial pneumonia
older: hypergammaglobulinemia, glomerulonephritis

35
Equine rhinopneumonitis/ epizootic abortion
EHV-1 : respiratory signs, abortion, CNS signs EHV-4: respiratory signs, (abortion) 75% DNA homology--> cross-reaction, but no cross-protection! abortion storms-30-40%, sudden vaccines are available: usually protect against respiratory forms
36
EHV-2,3,5
EHV-2: percavirus, gammaherpes, respiratory signs, only in young horses, can be isolated from many healthy horses, so the role is unknown EHV-3: coital exanthema, varicellovirus, alphavirus. benign venereal disease. NO abortion NO foethopathy EHV-5: percavirus, gammaherpes , role in EMPF: equine multinodular pulmonary fibrosis, but unknown exactly
