What are the two states that the patient must be asked about their pain?

Heart rate below 60

excessivly fast heart rate over 100 BPM

Irregular heartbeat rhythem
What are the two assessments for rhythem of heart rate?
Regular and arrythmia
What are the three things to assess for heart rate?
Rate, rhythm and strength
What are the three things to assess for in stregth of heartrate?
- Strong (normal)
- Weak or thready (abnormal)
- Full or bouncing (abnormal)
Costal breathing is assessed for who?
Women.
Abdominal breathing is assessed for who?
Children and men
How is the rhythem and depth of breathing explained?
Rhythm:
Regular, irregular
Depth:
Normal, deep, shallow
What is the normal respiration rate?
12-20 breaths per min
What is the range for oxygen saturation levels?
Normal range is 95-100%
Below 90% is life threatening
What is the temperature taken by the ear called?
Tympanic temperature
What is afebrile temperature?
The normal range which is 36-37.5 degrees centigrade
What is febrile?
A person’s body tempreture being above the normal range (37.5 degrees centigrade)
What is hypothermia?
An individuals body temperature being below 35 degrees centigrade
How do you know that the blood pressure cuff fits?
- 2 fingers can be inserted under the cuff without it being too tight or too loose
How is the blood pressure cuff positioned?
Aligned with the brachial artery and with it being 2.5 cm above the antecubital focca
Above the palpatory estimate, how much more MM does the pumping need to happen?
30mmHg
