Parathyroid Hormone Production (which are responsible for demineralizing bone, and maintaining calcium levels)

A

Malabsorption
Increased with w/ darker skin
Inadequate sun exposure
Vegan/Vegetarians who don’t drink fortified milk

A
Hypocalcemia which causes:
Irritability
Jittery
Fatigue
Wheezing
Muscle cramps
Seizures

Osteomalacia in adults
Rickets in children
