Facet
an aspect, a distinct feature, or element in a problem
EXAMPLE: I find it best to focus on all facets of the English classroom: vocabulary, writing, grammar, and literature.
Facetious
If someone is being facetious they’re being playful with an edge.
EXAMPLE: A knock-knock joke isn’t facetious, but if you call it the most advanced form of comedy, you’re probably being facetious; cleverly amusing in tone; being funny. I am looked upon as highly facetious at night, for I crack jokes with everybody near me until we fall asleep.
Fallacy
A fallacy is a misleading argument or belief based on a falsehood; illogical reasoning
EXAMPLE: His entire argument was based on a fallacy; he couldn’t support the claim because it was flawed and simply could not be substantiated with the text.
Fastidious
giving careful attention to detail (too much); hard to please; excessively concerned with cleanliness
EXAMPLE: Fastidious in everything that she does, Katie can be quite difficult to work with because no matter what anyone produces, she is never satisfied.
Fervent
characterized by intense emotion; passionate
EXAMPLE: The fervent fans celebrated in the biting cold when their team advanced to the championship game.
